The presentation will discuss the role of immediate implants in the armamentarium of implant treatment planning. The choice of sites and criteria for placement will be discussed. The participant will learn more about case selection, the role of previous infection, digital workflow, simultaneous hard and soft tissue augmentation, the use of Osseodensification, and the role of immediate provisionalization/custom healing abutment utilization.

Speaker Dr. Keith Chertok:

Dr. Keith Chertok graduated in the top 5% of his class from the New York University College of Dentistry (Accelerated Combined Degree Program) and was elected to the honor society Omicron Kappa Upsilon. He received the Quintessence Award for excellence in Periodontics and went on to complete a Hospital Residency program at the New York VA hospital. Dr. Chertok came to California to study at UCSF where he received his specialty training in Periodontics and Implantology. He taught at the Dugoni School of Dentistry (UoP) and UCSF dental school, and continues his love of teaching by offering continuing education courses to dentists and dental hygienists. Dr. Chertok is the former attending Periodontist in charge of periodontal education for the dental residents at the Veterans Hospital Healthcare System of Northern California at Mare Island, and he maintains a Periodontal Specialty practice in Berkeley that focuses on Implants, Periodontal Plastic Surgery, and Laser Periodontal Regeneration Procedures (LANAP).

Attendees are required to have received the COVID-19 vaccination to attend the October 19 in-person general membership meeting.  ACDS and the venue are also taking precautions as to social distance seating and limiting touch points throughout the dinner and meeting.  Masking requirements will be determined by whatever guidelines are in place at the time of the meeting.
