The Alameda County Dental Society is powered by the dedication of our volunteer committees, whose expertise and service help advance our mission across education, community advocacy, and member engagement.

Board of Directors

Made up of the Society's Officers and Directors-at-Large, the ACDS Board of Directors is responsible for the oversight of the Society. The Board establishes the vision of the organization and determines the strategies that will best accomplish that vision.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee handles the overall administration, structure, staffing, and documentation (e.g. constitution, mission) that guide the organization when the Board is not in session.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee oversees the treasury of the organization, as well as its financial instruments, budgets, controls and reports. It is chaired by the elected treasurer.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee encourages and facilitates membership and participation of eligible dentists through continuing education opportunities and social events.

Continuing Education Committee

The CE Committee assists in the recruitment, scheduling and selection of educational speakers for the General Membership meetings and Community of Practice webinar series.

Community Outreach Committee

The Community Outreach Committee coordinates outreach programs and events to the underserved and children in Alameda County.

The Nominating Committee is responsible to recruit prospective Board members and advance a slate of candidates for the Board and Officer elections at the Annual Business Meeting.  The Nominating Committee is typically only Board Members or Past Presidents and not typically open to general members.

Fundraising Committee

The Fundraising Committee is a standing committee with goals of raising funds to insure the financial visibility and stability of the Alameda County Dental Society.
